King Seiko Special 5256-8010 - Serviced - Last King Seiko

The King Seiko Special 5256-8010 was produced in one year only: 1975. This was the final year of King Seiko production, making it a rare and historically significant watch. In the 1975 Seiko catalogue, the price of this watch was 30,000 yen.

The movement is the Special Calibre 5256, with 28,800 bph (hi-beat) automatic, with hand-wind. It is a higher grade than the chronometer-grade 524x movements. The day advancement has a unique quirk (as designed) in that the mainspring winds at the same time as the day advancement.

The case is a beautiful stainless steel 36mm, 10mm thick case. It follows the Grammar of Design of Taro Tanaka, with beautiful lines on the case and lugs. The dial is white with applied baton indices, very finely finished.

This piece comes in great condition. The case is unpolished, and the dial is pristine. The movement has been serviced. There are scratches visible on the polished surface, and the tip of one of the lugs has a dent.
